After all these years, I finally acquired one of my favorite domain hacks: sao.bi

Read together, sao.bi sounds exactly like the Chinese slang “骚逼,” a crude and widely recognized vulgar expression.

About ten years ago, when I first got into domain names, I was fascinated by the creative Chinese domain hacks owned by veteran domain investors—sha.bi, meng.bi, cao.bi, zhuang.bi, sao.bi, qiong.bi, and others.

These domains are based on Chinese pinyin. When read aloud, each forms a well-known Chinese slang word or phrase. Their creativity and memorability made them legendary among Chinese domain enthusiasts.

Of all of them, the two I wanted most were sao.bi and cao.bi, both of which were owned by jun.im at the time.

Today, I finally got SAO.BI. 🎉

Now the question is… what should I build with it? 🤔

A porn site would be the obvious choice… but I’d rather not end up in jail. 😭

• cao.bi (草逼) – a vulgar Chinese profanity
• zhuang.bi (装逼) – “to show off” / “pretend to be impressive”
